FED: Policeman, gunman dead, civilian wounded in =2

Assistant Commissioner BRUCE WERNHAM says it appears a man opened fire on two police and a
civilian at the roadblock at the Old Bynoe turnoff.

Police say at this stage it appears the dead man is the person who fired shots in the
Livingstone area in Darwin last night.

His identity is unknown.

Mr WERNHAM says the dead policeman's wife has been notified.
